    • The world's quickest third gen Focus RS with upgraded XDI HPFP and BorgWarner EFR 7163 turbocharger - 11.4@127

      A very impressive Ford Focus RS here built by Mountune USA. At California Dragway in Fontana, California it set a new platform record running 11.437 seconds at 127.55 miles per hour. That is the quickest on the platform although not the fastest.


      Still, look at the conditions it was running in:

      Temperature - 86.5 F
      Humidity - 47% RH
      Barometric Pressure - 28.60 inHg
      DA (density altitude) +3,843 ft

      Not bad, right?


      The mod list is extensive but credit is due for the Xtreme-DI upgraded HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) which is clearly working well. As is the BorgWarner EFR 7163 turbocharger.

      Oh, and they did it with pump E85 fuel. Impressive.

        Few points...

        (1) Fontana is a horrible track to set records...high DAs like stated above, +3,800

        (2) I expected more power from a fully built big turbo Focus RS that has 2.3L of displacement....

        ...versus the 2.0L 300hp stock Golf R that Iroz built that ran 9.58 @ 145mph



        okay I get it DCT helps a lot but the RS 6speed stuck a 1.7, which is not a horrible 60ft...

        (3) RS needs more power and perhaps a driver mod
