• Report claims 2.7 liter Ecoboost V6 will power 2020 Ford Bronco

Trying to determine what is real news and fake news in the automotive world is becoming harder and harder. We will take Ford Authority at their word here as they claim to have sources working on the Bronco project.

      This is not confirmed:

The 2021 Ford Bronco will be powered by the twin-turbo 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission, Ford Authority has learned from sources familiar with the vehicle project.

Currently, the 2.7L EcoBoost engine does duty in several Ford Motor Company vehicles, including the F-150, Ford Edge ST as well as the Lincoln Nautilus. The exact output of the motor in the Bronco is currently unclear, but we can gather a general idea by looking at the vehicle with the closest powertrain configuration the Ford F-150.
For now, it's not official but let's hope they got the details right. The Bronco with a 2.7 liter Ecoboost V6 is going to be a lot of fun. It is based on the Ranger platform and the Ranger only offers a four-cylinder Ecoboost but Ford has test mules running around with the 2.7.

It seems likely this information is correct.
