    • Pulley swap pushes the 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang over 900 rear wheel horsepower on E85 - 902 rwhp

This is exactly what we expected to see with a pulley swap in the mix after the GT500 produced 834 horsepower to the rear wheels with upgraded injectors and ethanol tuning. There is also much more work to be done here.

The peak horsepower figure indeed clears 900 to the wheels:

You will notice a big dip in the torque curve at 4k rpm as they are struggling with torque limits in the TCU. This will no doubt be worked out and is a part of the process.

Expect tuners to push well into the 900's with a pulley, injectors, and ethanol tuning. This platform just can not stop making power.

The 2.65 peaked at 902 with a little belt slip (need a shorter belt) and probably would have hit 740-750 torque with no torque limit from the TCM. Once the TCM access is unlocked this should hopefully be remedied! Fuel system still seems to be holding! Probably will need a BAP or pumps changed above this boost level. We will see!

No joke. The real test will be putting on the sticky tires and seeing what the DCT can take at the strip. I don't doing well find out in short time at the rates this is progressing.

OEMs are pushing the envelope so damn fast that it really doesn't make sense to try to modify older platforms anymore. I can't think of another car that you'd get a reliable 900whp out of for $80k that would match this package and I don't doubt well be seeing 1,000whp soon.

You're correct about the cost effectiveness of modding older platforms. That is the dilemma I'm facing: Whether to mod my older platform car just to be able to make the power of what this newer platform car is making stock with just minor bolt-ons! Let's see what the car runs at the track. I'm hoping they figure out the torque limits in the TCU so that it is not a dyno queen like the E63 AMG S 4Matic M157. This car made great numbers on the dyno but out on the track, the TCU would cut power.

TCU will get cracked soon, the domestic muscle car tuning market is FAST. Waaaaay faster than BMW tuners are. It could be low end encryption (they probably don’t even care if its cracked) combined with the tuning competitiveness domestics have.
900whp? Stock engine stock trans, there is real value there.

ive been watching roll racing videos online usually about 60-160 and honestly boosted mustangs are supercar killers; plus they are the cheapest car out there! I can’t wait to see the new gt500 out there in the real world vs a boosted 5.0 w/ a 10r80

I've been watching the development of this car since it hit the market. My concerns at the track are how well the driveline will hold up under repeated launches. According to the PDF on TREMEC's site about the TR-9070 it is rated to 664ft-lb of torque. There is also mention of some of the software:
In order to create the desired feel during launch and shifting, TREMEC engineers developed advanced algorithms to calculate torque targets, in realtime. An underlying torque chain converts the targets into an electrical target for the control valves, making torque control fast and repeatable.
        Attachment 60063

IMO The key will be cracking the TCU to allow it to function how we'd need it to with aftermarket power levels, and if the clutches can handing the additional torque. That being said, the torque levels from that dyno run are not significantly outside of the rated performance envelope, so getting it to play along may not be that difficult.

Will be exciting to watch it develop.

The pace at which the domestic tuning market moves and the Mustang reputation for tuning means this problem was probably solved yesterday. It isn't going to be an issue.

Dodson already released an upgrade for the transmission. Nobody thinks the TCU will stand in their way for long if at all.

Won't be a problem at factory levels. At modded levels, won't be a problem either as there will be dozens of solutions.

The Domestic guys have it easy.
