    • F-150 Lightning coming back? Ford planning hybrid truck with performance emphasis

A new Lightning was not announced (boo!) but Ford is preparing to make the F-150 a hybrid and the potential for a new performance truck is there. Frankly, the Lightning name lends itself in absolutely perfect fashion for a hybrid performance truck.

      Ford makes a good argument:

You don’t have to have an expensive generator on site now. You can just plug your tools into your truck and that electric powertrain will run all the tools on the job site. Customers will pay for that because they don’t have to buy an expensive $10,000 generator.

We learned when we did the aluminum F-150 that people are willing to pay more for a truck if you give it more capability
The generator argument makes sense and a hybrid drivetrain certainly will lend itself well to towing with the torque boost.

What about performance though? Could we get that new Lightning already please?
