As you know the PorscheBoost.com Project 991.2 Carrera is currently the most powerful Carrera and 991.2 9A2B6 3.0 in the world. Gintani is doing an amazing job with the tuning hitting ~600 whp on a Mustang dyno on 91 octane pump fuel with methanol injection. Gintani moved to E85 tuning and was seeing solid 50+ gains but the clutches started to slip. Basically, if going beyond the ~600 lb-ft of torque range on a RWD PDK you will begin to experience clutch issues. Most people will not experience this problem and certainly not on stock turbochargers. Furthermore, the limit the factory PDK clutches will hold will no doubt improve with time. Keep in mind TCU tuning on the platform is in its infancy. With increased line pressure and various TCU strategies we could probably hold higher torque levels but instead of waiting around PorscheBoost contacted Dodson for a PDK upgrade. The PorscheBoost Project 991.2 Carrera will be the first RWD PDK upgraded in the USA or North America. This way we will already have superior hardware capable of much higher torque in place as we were not planning to stop with E85. Keep in mind the car still is on the factory headers, inlets, and inercoolers. We will have upgraded hardware in place to really push forward even as TCU tuning evolves and even to handle built motor output levels. Dodson believes the RWD PDK will be very capable but we will know more during disassembly. The discs are supposedly smaller diameter than the AWD 991 Turbo models but the difference is difficult to even discern with the naked eye. You may also recall tuner Hydra Motorsport stated going over 500 lb-ft of torque at the crank is the PDK limit. This is false. We saw well over another 150 lb-ft of torque from what Hydra claims before clutch slippage. Now, here are some torque ratings that have been passed around: 500 newton-meters is 368 lb-ft so obviously that is false as far as RWD PDK capability. A stock 991.2 GTS makes 405 lb-ft of torque. As for differences between the 997 and 991 PDK: Additionally, Porsche began sealing PDK gearboxes with the 997.2. Why? So you can not replace the internal parts and then be forced to buy an entire new PDK transmission from the dealer should you exceed the lifespan. Fortunately, Dodson is able to get inside and service these gearboxes. Dodson sent a blue box to pick up the transmission from Gintani and we will see how quick the turnaround is and how the new PDK clutches do once they are received.

The 335i in the video is tuned by Hausofpower.ca with unknown supporting mods. Both vehicles are on factory turbochargers but considering the beatdown this 335i really needs a set of upgraded twins to play with a bolt on C63. Plus it's 2019, what is a 335i doing still on stock turbos? The C63 is a W205 generation model which means an M177 twin turbo 4.0 liter V8 is under the hood. It is a beast of a motor as the video shows it easily pulling away with simple bolt ons. Great to see the JB4 doing well on the M177 platform.

Porfiris Autosport is located in Greece and getting details on this build is not easy. What we do know is it is making a ton of power and it has a ton of turbo lag. The useable power band is narrow to say the least when the turbo spools at 6500 rpm. Powerful? Yes. Useable? Not really: It is like an on/off switch. Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing.... hold on! AudiBoost is not sure what turbo they are using but 2.0 liter motors making similar power in the Japanese tuning scene are posted with much better looking curves. Porfiris is claiming a world record here but there likely are some stronger VW/Audi 2.0 motors out there. This certainly is the strongest Audi TT-S to date. Power achieved at 3 BAR.

Now a 1:53.30 is a very good time for a heavy sedan but if you watch the video, the F90 M5 Competition is not exactly graceful. It looks like quite a handful actually to hustle around the Hockenheim GP course. Also interesting is that the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4Matic Coupe is quicker by half a second despite carrying 300 more pounds. A heavier AMG Mercedes beating a lighter and more powerful BMW on the track? What is going on? Laptimes: 43. McLaren 720S unknown 1:48.20 720 / 1428 44. Porsche 918 Spyder unknown 1:48.50 887 / 1665 45. Porsche 911 GT2 RS (991) unknown 1:49.10 700 / 1508 46. On a tighter course it would certainly begin to show its heft and understeer.

Ecoboost 2.3 liter inline-4 fans have some upgraded HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) options courtesy of Xtreme-DI. There are two pumps, the XDI-HPFP35 and the XDI-HPFP60. The HPFP35 is in stock and shipping for the Focus RS. The XDI-HPFP60 is larger and more expensive and also built to order. You need a roughly 2-3 week lead time to get it. The HPFP60 will support 550+ horsepower direct injection only on E85. The smaller HPFP35 will do roughly 500+ horsepower depending on fuel and injectors. This is good news for the new Mustang Performance Package which has a similar style motor to the Focus RS.
